Days of our Lives star Christopher Sean (Paul Narita) has decided it's time to walk away from Salem.

All of life's chapters come to an end, and it looks like Christopher Sean's chapter as Days of our Lives' Paul Narita has reached its conclusion.

Soap Central has learned that the über popular actor has decided not to renew his contract with the NBC soap opera, the show he's called home since 2014.

Multiple sources reveal that the actor, who recently landed a voice role in the upcoming Disney series Star Wars Resistance, has his heart set on pursuing film and primetime opportunities, which a contract role on a soap opera often prevents.

Sean immediately shot to fame within the soap opera community the moment he took on the role of Paul and became involved in DAYS' gay storyline between Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith). The character was so successful with fans, the powers that be even decided to give him a strong connection to the canvas by revealing that iconic character John Black (Drake Hogestyn) was Paul's dad.

Though he's been on contract at DAYS for the past four years, Sean has managed to keep a fairly busy working schedule outside of Salem. Not only did he star on Hawaii Five-0 from 2014 to 2016, but he also briefly played the role of The Bay's Colton in 2016 and 2017.

As fans of the actor may recall, rumors about an exit actually started earlier this year when he posted that he had "big news" to share via social media. Fans quickly began speculating that he was leaving DAYS, but the actor's announcement was actually that he had joined the Star Wars family.

"Don't worry everyone. I'm not leaving DAYS," he tweeted to his 38 thousand followers back in February.

At the time of this posting, Sean hadn't written anything on his social media accounts about his recent decision to opt out at the drama series. Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis), one of his costars, had. "We will all miss the amazing and talented @ChristopherSean in Salem," Smith shared, also wishing the actor "love, happiness, and success."

Soap Opera Digest reports that Sean taped his final episode on May 25, which just happened to be the same day that Marci Miller taped her final scenes as Abigail. That means Sean is likely to last air sometime around Thanksgiving. There's no word yet on whether or not DAYS plans to recast the character.

UPDATE (June 13): Christopher Sean released an Instagram video confirming his DAYS exit. You can watch the video here.
